Tartakovsky and Cartoon Network Double Take Primetime Emmys for Animation

Genny Tartakovsky and Cartoon Network were double-winners in the primetime Emmy race for animation while STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE took series honors for visual effects at The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences 2003-2004 Creative Arts Primetime Emmys for programs and individual achievements at the 56th Annual Emmy Awards presentation September 12, 2004, at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

The Birth of Evil episode of SAMURAI JACK, (the series was created by Tartakovsky), won for Animated Program (One Hour or Less) in a surprising win over THE SIMPSONS.

This was a previously announced juried award as was the Individual Achievement in Animation Awards AWN reported earlier, which went to Seonna Hong, background stylist for her work on Nickelodeons The Wonderful World of Wizzley episode on MY LIFE AS A TEENAGE ROBOT.

Tartakovsky picked up another Emmy when STAR WARS: CLONE WARS on Cartoon Network won for Outstanding Animated Program (over one hour). The best visual effects for a miniseries, movie or special went to DREAMKEEPER, PART 1, broadcast on ABC.

Thomas Thomas Films and the Fallon ad agency won the best commercial honors for its OUTFIT, a spot for Citibank Identity Theft Card Protection.
