Hayden Christensen and Djimon Hounsou will star in MANDRAKE, the film adaptation of comic strip MANDRAKE THE MAGICIAN by Lee Falk, per COMINGSOON.net.
DEEP IMPACT director Mimi Leder will helm the film written by Josh Oppenheimer and Thomas Dean Donnelly, JV Hart and Ian Jeffers from an original story by Kevin Bernhardt.
Underground magician Jackson Mandrake is hired by the CIA to use contortion and hypnosis to break a deep-cover agent out of jail, but learns the whole thing was a set-up and the agent has gone rogue. He must clear his name with the CIA while also escaping his would-be killers.
UPDATE: MTV News, after contacting Christensen's representatives, says that the actor will not appear in the film as earlier reported.
