Animex Awards has announced that Francisco Alvarez, from Sheridan College, has won his years this years Animex Audience Award. Of the 43 nominated entries posted on the Animex website, Alvarezs romantic comedy entitled LA BALADA DEL CARUPANERO TIMIDO received an average user rating of 4.75 out of a possible 5. Alvarez will receive a prize donated by Viglen Computers.

The Animex International Festival of Animation & Computer Games takes place every year in Middlesbrough in the North East of England. The festival has its roots firmly planted in the creative side of the animation business and acts to provide animators, directors, students, artists, designers, writers and educators with a forum in which they can share their knowledge and skills and promote the art of animation.
The entry deadline for the next Animex Awards is Oct. 1, 2006.
