Randy Wells Joins Miramax Home Ent. Marketing

Randy Wells joins Miramax Home Ent. as vp of home entertainment, responsible for handling the companys day-to-day marketing of its home entertainment product for both Miramax and Dimension titles, including theatrical and direct to DVD titles. Wells will be based out of Miramaxs Los Angeles office and reports to sevp of home entertainment Jeffrey Fink.

Randy is a welcome addition to the Miramax Home Entertainment team, said Fink, who joined the division in March 2004. His experience with creatively mining the resources of a library for DVD output and marketing opportunities will be a valued asset.

Wells, with more than 15 years of experience in the industry, was exec director of marketing at Artisan/Lions Gate Ent., where he was responsible for the development and marketing of special edition DVDs, key sell-through releases and the exploitation of the 8,000-title catalog. Wells spearheaded efforts with Microsoft in producing the first high definition DVDs utilizing the Windows Media 9 Series format (TERMINATOR 2, STANDING IN THE SHADOWS OF MOTOWN and STEP INTO LIQUID), partnered with Activision to produce the first DVD release that included an entire video game as a bonus feature (STEP INTO LIQUID/Kelly Slaters Pro Surfer), and produced the critically acclaimed DVD Special Editions of RESERVOIR DOGS, THE RAMBO TRILOGY, TOTAL RECALL AND TERMINATOR 2.

Prior to Artisan/Lions Gate, Wells spent 10 years in marketing and merchandising at Blockbuster Ent.
