Svengali Visual Effects Garden State Work

Svengali Visual Effects has contributed visual effects to GARDEN STATE, Zach Braffs (NBCs SCRUBS) directorial debut that premiered to critical acclaim at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival. Scheduled for release on July 30, 2004 by Fox Searchlight, GARDEN STATE is a dark, romantic comedy set in New Jersey.

Svengali partner Rocco Gioffre supervised the effects that involve the creation of the fictional location, Kiernans Quarry. "I enjoy working on independent films that require producing realistic environments that are completely convincing to the viewer, said Gioffre.

Braff said, I had seen Rocco's work and Svengali's reel just blew me away, but I knew there was no way we'd ever be able to afford them. But that's the great thing about Rocco, he does it for the love of the project. If he believes in the film, he'll go so far out of his way to make it work. Not only did he say yes, but he treated our tiny little movie like it was the most important film of his career and I'll never forget that.

Svengali Visual Effects specializes in digital matte painting, miniature photography, 2D and 3D animation, as well as compositing. It was founded by Gioffre and Jamie Venable in 2002. Svengali Visual Effects is located at 1630 Cotner Avenue, Suite B, Los Angeles, California 90025. The telephone is (310) 709-2836. Visit www.svengali-fx.com for more information.
