Pinky and Perky Hit the Stage

After proving a massive hit on the small screen, pesky porkers Pinky and Perky are set to transfer their unique brand of anarchic fun to the theatre in a brand new live action extravaganza.

PPC Enterprises, which holds M&L rights in the brand, has revealed that Pinky and Perky will be brought to the stage in 2010/2011 courtesy of leading West End theatre production company Fiery Light.

THE PINKY AND PERKY SHOW has been running on CBBC since November 3, 2008 and features the world's most famous pigs in an action-packed CGI romp. The show has proved a massive hit with a whole new generation of fans, as well as attracting the interest of parents who remember the pigs from an earlier incarnation. The new show is already attracting broadcasting interest from around the world, with international TV sales being handled by Granada International -- it is due to go out on France 3 and ABC in Australia this year, with sales also confirmed in the Nordics.

Fiery Light has a considerable reputation as a producer of high quality children's theatre and is behind the successful production of LAZY TOWN LIVE! based on the hit TV show, which has grossed more than six million pounds at the box office. 2009 will see the company produce LAZYTOWN LIVE! THE PIRATE ADVENTURE, plus the U.K. premiere of SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS -- THE SPONGE WHO COULD FLY, Roald Dahl's THE BFG and the first-ever live production of the hit BBC show PEPPA PIG.
