Paul Chesney Appointed VP Int'l Operations, UPIE

Universal Pictures International Ent. (UPIE), the international home entertainment division of Universal Pictures, has appointed Paul Chesney as VP, International Operations, effective from March 2, 2009.

Based in London, Chesney will report to Eddie Cunningham, President, UPIE and will be responsible for the efficiency, systems and planning of all aspects of Universal's international home entertainment operations in regard to manufacturing, distribution and supply chain.

With a strong track record as an experienced management executive, Chesney joins UPIE from his most recent role as VP, Business Development at Arts Alliance Media, where he was responsible for building global digital distribution partnerships across various platforms. He also initiated a new revenue stream of "alternative content" programming, which included negotiating agreements with the Royal Opera House, Music and Home Entertainment labels and delivering non-traditional content to cinemas all over Europe.

Previously, he was Worldwide SVP, Sales & Marketing at Deluxe Media Services, where he drove the strategic vision, planning and business development of this home entertainment service provider with Universal Pictures International Ent. being one of their biggest clients. Chesney has also held senior supply-chain and operational positions at Disney, Warner and Technicolor, in a 25-year career spent entirely in the home entertainment and film business.
