Novel Entertainment Appoint Children’s Brand Manager

Novel Entertainment, leading independent producers of top children’s programmes including Horrid Henry, Fimbles, The Roly Mo Show, Rockit’s Pocket and Ping & Pong, have appointed Kelly Henwood as Children’s Brand Manager to lead the future development of their TV properties.

Oxford, 13 July 2010. Novel Entertainment, leading independent producers of top children’s programmes including Horrid Henry, Fimbles, The Roly Mo Show, Rockit’s Pocket and Ping & Pong, have appointed Kelly Henwood as Children’s Brand Manager to lead the future development of their TV properties.

Kelly is responsible for co-ordinating a wide range of brand partners across a variety of product areas, as well as initiating marketing campaigns and cross-promotional strategies. She joins the company with five years experience in consumer products, marketing and licensing.

Most recently Kelly was Licensing & Marketing Manager at Oxford Limited, a subsidiary of the University of Oxford, where she managed the global brand licensing programme. With key focus on UK & Europe, North America, South Korea, Japan, Australasia and South East Asia, licenses covered a broad range of categories including educational toys, apparel, shoes and accessories, luggage and home interiors. Whilst there, she was responsible for new product development and overseeing the marketing of the online retail arm of the company.

In her new role, Kelly will work closely with Novel’s licensing agency Copyright Promotions and international distributors, as well as expanding and consolidating the brands’ online presence. Mike Watts, co-founder of Novel Entertainment says: “Novel’s brand activity has increased significantly and Kelly’s appointment comes at exactly the right time to help grow our business further. Novel Entertainment has just announced the co-production of a live-action 3D movie of Horrid Henry with Vertigo Films, slated for release in 2011. Novel’s animated Horrid Henry TV show (104 x 11 mins) is the most successful series ever for CITV and it has so far been adapted for stage, radio, and online as well as being at the heart of a successful licensing and merchandising programme.

Novel Entertainment also has a long-standing relationship with CBeebies, having produced 130 episodes of The Roly Mo Show and 230 episodes of preschool show Fimbles for the broadcaster.
