Concrete Pictures Gets Rose Bowl Open

Kicking off January's highly anticipated Rose Bowl, ABC Sports has tapped Concrete Pictures to produce the open for the Bowl Championship Series' (BCS) National Championship game between University of Southern California and the University of Texas. The 1:40 spot, helmed by Tripp Dixon, will feature famed college football broadcaster Keith Jackson guiding fans through the thrilling tale of the 2005 college football season.

To create the guided tour, Jackson was filmed on greenscreen and then placed into key moments from the 2005 season. Props and extras were utilized to further embed him within environments that were drawn both from existing season footage as well as plates that were shot specifically for the project at the USC/UCLA game earlier in December. The complex tracking shots mixed high-def and standard-def formats using programs such as Maya, Boujou and Shake.

The BCS Rose Bowl game will be broadcast exclusively on ABC and on ESPN Radio Jan. 4 at 8:00 pm EST.
