Black Logic Signs FX Vet David Lane

Black Logic has signed London-based spot and feature film special effects director David Lane. Lane made his directing debut in television on the cult series THUNDERBIRDS. His other television credits include SPACE 1999, STINGRAY, UFO, CAPTAIN SCARLET AND THE MYSTERIONS and CATWEZEL. His film credits include SUPERGIRL and SANTA CLAUS. "With David (Lane) on the Black Logic team, we can offer clients an expanded perspective on visual effects. David's practical approach to visual effects and his distinctive method of completing effects in post, allows Black Logic to offer its clients new creative problem solving capabilities that go well beyond the traditional post-production visual effects tool box," said Black Logic vice president and executive producer Karen Stewart. "He is that rare director who is accomplished in all facets of visual effects directing. From live-action to miniatures to 3D motion-capture, Lane excels at them all." Black Logic head of sales Ivan Molomut, said. "Lane has a keen appreciation for the Black Logic approach. His practical live effects mentality and outstanding out-of-the-box solutions are unrivalled. He is a storyteller who directs in 3D, who moves easily between tabletop, people, models, whatever, as long as its focus is visual effects. As an added bonus, our clients will benefit from the favorable exchange rate and the expanded work day due to the time difference between London and New York City."
