Animated ‘Slim Goodbody’ Series in Development

John Burstein and Luminous Blue Limited team up to bring ‘Slim’s’ unique brand of learning and discovery to kids with an all-new adventure-based show exploring global health and wellness.

Slim Goodbody, the costumed character created by John Burstein, who has been teaching kids about their bodies for over 40 years, is developing a new kids’ (ages five-eight) animated series based on his unique brand of learning and discovery. The new show, developed in partnership with Luminous Blue Limited, features adventure-based characters exploring global health and wellness topics in a “laugh-out-loud” and highly relatable way.

“I couldn’t be more excited to partner with Luminous Blue to bring the principles and joy of my work to the next generation of kids,” shared Burstein. “Now, more than ever, families are looking for content that provides kids a highly engaging resource to better understand themselves and a source of connection to one another. I can’t wait to see how much fun kids will have with this new format.”

Luminous Blue Limited head of story, John Edwards, added, “We’d love kids from around the world to feel the same kind of wonder we felt with Slim Goodbody but in a brand new, exciting format.”

Millions of kids see Burstein’s Slim Goodbody productions on Discovery Education, his live shows tour nationwide, and he has authored 50 children’s books. Accolades include awards from Parent’s Choice, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, and the World Health Organization.

Cookbook Media, a global franchise management agency headed by Claudia Scott-Hansen and Rob Bencal, brokered the agreement between Slim Goodbody Corp. and Luminous Blue Limited deal. In addition, the management agency has partnered with Slim to manage the overall Slim brand.
