17 AGAIN director Burr Steers has been hired to direct EMPEROR; YOUNG CAESAR, reports Deadline.com. Based on Conn Iggulden's novel series, the story follows Julius Caesar and Marcus Brutus from their childhoods to Caesar's murder.
William Broyles and Stephen Harrigan have been hired to pen the screenplay. Exclusive Media Group's Nigel Sinclair, Guy East, Hollywood Gang's Gianni Nunnari, Atmosphere Entertainment's Mark Canton and Broyles are producing.
The initial film will follow the first two novels — THE GATES OF ROME and THE FIELD OF SWORDS — following Julius and Marcus's training to be Roman soldiers. EMG plans to make a trilogy from the four books in the series.
