Sorry if I'm in the wrong place, but this site came recommended.
My sons really into animation, and I'm looking for a bit of advice for software to get him. He's only 8 so itll need to be reasonably simple and accessible. He's got several programmes on his iPad already but they're all really simple (limited to 2d, use preset assets, 30 sec clips only). He wants something that will allow him to start moving into 3d and creating his own assets to use in them.
Free programmes would be nice but I'm not opposed to spending a few quid on a decent programme. It doesn't have to be limited to tablet apps either. I've got a powerful rig that I'm pretty sure will run anything that can be thrown at it (I game and can run the latest releases at 4k so plenty of power there for rendering).
