Time To Enter the Anchorage Int’l Film Fest

Anchorage International Film Festival 2006 Anchorage, Alaska, USADecember 1-10, 2006Deadline: September 1, 2006

The Anchorage Film Festival is going into its 6th year. The event strives to bring the world of independent cinema to the far reaches of Alaska. As part of the event, the festival holds the Golden Oosik Awards Gala. Regular screenings are held throughout the festival at the Alaska Experience Theatre. It boasts a half dome screen, plus the intimate Earthquake Theatre with 25 shaking seats. As well Alaskan talent is highlighted in the Snowdance Showcase.

Anchorage is a small- to medium-sized city crouching on the edge of the howling Alaskan wilderness, surrounded by mountains and edged by a frigid and restless sea. Its far away from Cannes, Sundance, Toronto and people up here are proud of the fact they do things a little differently from the rest of the world. Independence has always been regarded as an asset and that quality remains a common character trait, even today.

Early deadline is July 15, 2006, followed the final deadline Sept. 1. For more information, visit www.anchoragefilmfestival.com.
