Studio 100, VARTA Sign Licensing Deal for ‘Maya the Bee’

Multi-year licensing agreement encompasses the German-speaking market in addition to other areas throughout Europe; products will be available starting in 2017.

Munich -- Studio 100 Media und VARTA Consumer Batteries GmbH & Co. KGaA have announced a future collaboration for Maya the Bee, including nightlights and flashlights. The extensive license agreement encompasses the German speaking market, Turkey, Russia, the Ukraine, the Baltic region, Great Britain and Ireland, Scandinavia, the Balkan States, France, the CEE states and Benelux. Planeta Junior, as Studio 100 Media’s partner, will cover the southern European territories.

This agreement for the coming years is effective immediately. Thereby, VARTA was able to secure the license for the second season of Maya the Bee, airing on German television next year, as well as for two planned theatrical movies. The first movie, Maya the Bee 2 – The Honey Games, will head to German cinemas in March 2018. Initial products will be available in 2017.
