Nicktoons Kicks Off Yakkity Yuks Super Bowl Weekend Marathon

Nicktoons will feature 24 episodes, back-to-back, of YAKKITY YAK on Feb. 5 & 6, 2005, from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm during Super Bowl Weekend in the U.S. Viewers will see Yakkity, the class clown of Onion Falls High School, on his rocky road to stardom as he strives to become a standup comic.

YAKKITY YAK is a 52x11 animated series from Studio B and Kapow Pictures, that features a lovably oblivious and easily misguided yak that strives to shine as the next comic superstar. Despite his lack of comedic talent and many crowd-silencing performances, Yakkity is determined to make it big. Each episode finds Yakkity and his best friends, Keo and Lemony, in exciting adventures with hilarious consequences.

Mark (creator and co-production partner from Kapow Pictures, Mark Gravas) and I are very excited to see that YAK has found a loyal audience on Nicktoons and that they are running a marathon to showcase Yakkity¹s talents, said Studio B partner Blair Peters.

"It's encouraging to know that there's a YAKKITY YAK fan base out there that Nicktoons recognizes," said Gravas, series creator and co-owner of Kapow Pictures. "Hopefully this marathon will introduce the show to a lot more people.

YAKKITY YAK is a Canadian/Australian co-production with Kapow Pictures, distributed by MTV Networks International and airs on Nickelodeon stations around the globe.

Vancouver-based Studio B (www.studiobproductions.com) is an award-winning animation studio that has produced more than 150 half hours of original programming including YVON OF THE YUKON, WHAT ABOUT MIMI? and D'MYNA LEAGUES, which currently airs in some 22 countries around the world.
