Neptuno Films & Character Farm to Sell Asian Animated Series

Spanish production/distribution toon house Neptuno Films and Singapore-based Character Farm have joined forces to distribute the 3D preschool animated series, KATAKUNE, co-produced by Character Farm Pty. Ltd. and Wogee Toons Pty. Ltd. This agreement represents the first deal of this kind between Spain and Singapore and gives Neptuno a larger presence in the Asian territory. The 52x11 series should be ready by October 2007.

Neptuno Films will exploit the exclusive distribution rights for the worldwide market, excluding Asia and North America, which will be handled by Six-Six-Eight Pty. Ltd. on behalf of Character Farm. Wogee Toons Pty. Ltd., operating exclusively in China, has secured a deal with CCTV. Provincial stations will be attached soon, while already on board are YoYo TV in Taiwan and Shin Broadband Internet Co. from Thailand.

The series introduces young viewers to Katakune, a curious silkworm, and his friends Louie, Tyko and Benny who live in the wonderful world of Tazzleland. KATAKUNE offers charming preschool short stories with positive values for children.

Neptuno Films is expanding its distribution portfolio with new animated properties from third party producers, will co-ordinate worldwide merchandising and licensing operations with Character Farm, which will introduce the new lineup of products at the forthcoming Hong Kong Licensing Show. BrandElite Licensing Ltd. will launch the M&L program for KATAKUNE in the Pan China region, including Main China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. The M&L programs in Mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong will run in sync with the TV stations in their respective regions.
