MTV Networks Latin America Ups Luis Goicouria to VP, Digital Media

Luis Goicouria has been promoted to vp of digital media for MTV Networks Latin America. He will oversee the companys New Media division in Miami and report to Charlie Singer, evp of programming, creative and strategic marketing, MTV Networks Latin America.

Goicouria oversee all strategic and operational aspects of interactive digital media, and continue to ensure the integration and expansion of both online and mobile businesses. He will also lead the development and distribution of proprietary digital content for MTV Networks brands across Latin America.

Wireless and web-based technologies are evolving rapidly in Latin America, and were committed to reaching and expanding our audiences through these new platforms, said Singer. Luis will spearhead the development of our MTV, Nick, and VH1 content distribution across such platforms, and Im confident that his knowledge in this area, along with his strategic ingenuity and excellent management skills, will take our digital media operations to the next level.

Goicouria was senior director of new media in charge of developing and executing the companys new media strategies throughout the region. He developed MTV, Nickelodeon and VH1's online properties, and MTV Latin America's groundbreaking three-year alliance with Motorola, which extended the reach of premium MTV content to mobile users in Latin America. In 2004, Goicouria was instrumental in the negotiation of Nicks SPONGEBOB content deal with VIVO Brazil to promote the characters film debut in the region.

Under his leadership, MTVla.com has received several accolades by PROMAX and BDA for creativity in format and design. MTV Latin Americas website was named Best Music Website by ROLLING STONE MAGAZINE ARGENTINA in 2003 and by Yahoo! Mexico in 2004.

In 2000, Goicouria was appointed online manager for Nickelodeon Latin America, responsible for establishing the networks online initiatives in the region. He joined MTVN Latin America in 1996 as operations coordinator in charge of Nickelodeons production budgets and coordination.

MTV Networks Latin America, Inc., a unit of Viacom Intl, owns and operates MTV Latin America, Nickelodeon Latin America, Nickelodeon Brazil, VH1 Latin America and the MTV Networks Digital Suite, a package of five digital services MTV James, MTV Hits, VH1 Soul, VH1 Mega Hits and Nickelodeons GAS (Games and Sports for Kids).
