Icon Animation & Disney Channel Spain Make Way For Noddy

Barcelona-based Icon Animation has scored a Spanish deal for Chorion's animated property, NODDY, which Icon represents third party for Spain. The Disney Channel bought all episodes of MAKE WAY FOR NODDY (100x10) and SAY IT WITH NODDY (100x2), alongside three television specials: NODDY SAVES CHRISTMAS (1x26); NODDY AND THE ISLAND ADVENTURE (1x26) and NODDY AND THE MAGICAL MOONDUST (1x26).

The show will be stripped daily on Playhouse Disney from Monday to Friday at 9:00 am and on Sundays at 5:00 pm with back-to-back episodes of MAKE WAY FOR NODDY and SAY IT WITH NODDY.

MAKE WAY FOR NODDY features Noddy and his friends learning life's lessons from their everyday adventures in Toy Town. The series uses CGI to create a sophisticated and well-crafted children's series, while retaining the charm and innocence of the original books. NODDY, written and created by Enid Blyton, is the little wooden boy with the jingly blue hat and nodding head, and is a beloved children's character.

SAY IT WITH NODDY introduces children to the English language by highlighting words or phrases that are familiar to children and are part of their everyday lives in a fun, colorful and entertaining way.

"These charming series and specials bring the magic of the original books to life and we believe that they will be a great success on Disney Channel in Spain," said Sergi Reitg, md at Icon Animation.

Geraint Marsh, head of TV sales at Chorion, said, "We are delighted that NODDY continues to achieve excellent broadcast platforms across Europe, and with the Disney Channel we have a great partner with whom to bring the much-loved NODDY to children in Spain."

In the U.K., MAKE WAY FOR NODDY broadcasts on Five, and consistently rates in the top five pre-school programs for kids 3-5. In France, NODDY -- known as OUI-OUI (YES, YES) -- is broadcast on France5 and Tiji, and ranks amongst the top shows on these channels. OUI-OUI is the number three pre-school character in the French market.

MAKE WAY FOR NODDY also airs in more than 100 other countries across the world, including the U.S., Japan, China, Germany, Australia, India and Portugal (where NODDY is the number one pre-school show).
