HIT and NCircle Team for 'Mike the Knight' DVD Deal

HIT Entertainment and NCircle team up to release “Mike the Knight” on DVD.

New York, NY -- Mike the Knight  is heading from his kingdom of Glendragon into the home entertainment aisles!  HIT Entertainment announced that it has partnered with NCircle Entertainment to bring Mike the Knight to home entertainment in the U.S.  The first DVD, Mike the Knight: Knight in Training, will be available at retailers nationwide in June.  Mike the Knight currently airs on Nick Jr. and is one of the channel’s top rated series among children ages 2 to 5.

Mike the Knight is a CG-animated series that transports kids to a realm of castles, dragons, and trolls.  With his triumphant rallying cry “Be a Knight, Do it Right!”, Mike brings the excitement and enchantment of medieval times to his young viewers.  The young hero is joined in his adventures by a host of characters including his trusty steed Galahad, two friendly dragons Squirt and Sparkie, and his sister Evie, a trainee wizard. Kids accompany Mike on knightly missions, where they learn problem-solving, self-confidence, and how to do the right thing. Currently, the series airs on major broadcast platforms around the world including Nick Jr. (US), Treehouse (Canada), Cbeebies (UK), ABC (Australia), and Discovery Kids (Latin America) (ABC), and in nearly every major European market.

Mike the Knight is a charming property that has proven to have wide appeal to preschoolers in the U.S. and internationally,” said Debbie Ries, Senior Vice President and General Manager of NCircle Entertainment.  “Its fantasy/historical genre, along with its positive pro-social messages, make it a superb addition to NCircle’s roster of quality children’s programming. We look forward to transporting Mike the Knight and his friends from the realm of Glendragon to DVD.”

“With over 25 years of building children’s brands and their hands-on management approach, we are excited to partner with NCircle to launch the home entertainment program for HIT’s newest property, Mike the Knight,” said Andrea Carpenter, Group Director, Home Entertainment – US & Canada, HIT Entertainment.   “NCircle’s creativity and dedicated expertise in children’s and family entertainment will be key to making Mike the Knight in home entertainment a success in a competitive and continually evolving retail environment.”

In addition to the partnership with NCircle, HIT Entertainment continues to grow their roster of Mike the Knight licensees with a line of children’s books launching from Simon & Schuster this year, along with new toys from Fisher-Price also launching in June 2013 in the U.S.  New episodes of Mike the Knight will begin airing on Nick Jr. later this year.
