Santa Barbara-based production/distribution company Foothill Entertainment Inc. has formed a broad-based strategic alliance with recently established creative content house phuuz entertainment inc. to extend the business and creative reach of both organizations globally.
phuuz, was formed in Universal City, California by Emmy Award-winning producer/director, Eric Radomski, former production vp at Warner Bros. Animation, Ken Duer, and former vp/gm for LEVEL13.NET (Film Romans Internet entertainment site), Jay Francis. Its mission is to develop original properties for new media (video and computer games, wireless technologies, DVD, Internet), traditional media (television, film, comic books/graphic novels), and other ancillary markets (toys, fashion, advertising, music) as well as utilize new media platforms to maximize franchising and distribution opportunities on a worldwide basis.
Foothill (www.foothillentertainment.com) was formed in 2000 by entertainment attorney, Greg Payne, and international distribution specialist, Jo Kavanagh-Payne, to act as executive producers of childrens and family entertainment as well as global distributors.
Francis said, In establishing the phuuz footprint, we realized that our market and our customers are truly global. We quickly realized that we needed to ally ourselves with an organization that knew the international creative and financial marketplace as well as the necessary players. Given that Greg has already been representing us legally since our formation, it was an easy transition to have both Greg and Jo also help solidify our global reach, particularly in Europe. We think Foothill Entertainment is the perfect fit for the established long term goals of phuuz.
Kavanagh-Payne comments, phuuz represents the sort of cutting edge creative energy that is vital in todays marketplace. Great creative vision is not the province of just one country or continent. Foothill will seek international financing and distribution opportunities for phuuz created and developed programs and phuuz will act as a creative resource for Foothill. Payne will continue to act as outside legal advisor for phuuz and its founders.
