EM.Ent. has licensed new rights to library titles in both France and Eastern Europe. The French broadcaster Canal J has acquired a program package encompassing exclusive marketing rights for pay and free TV respectively (cable and satellite) as well as non-exclusive exploitation rights for IPTV and Mobile. Further more, EM.Ent. has granted DVD/video marketing rights for Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia to InterDomino whilst the Eastern European free TV channel Minimax has also purchased formats from the company's distribution portfolio.
In Dec. 2006, Canal J, a subsidiary of Lagardère Active, secured exclusive exploitation rights for well-known programs such as cartoon series BLINKY BILL, the 2D animated movie PIPPI LONGSTOCKING and the live-action movies AIR BUD I and II for France, Monaco, Andorra and the French overseas territories. The programs are set for broadcast on Canal J and TiJi - the French children's channels belonging to Lagardère Active.
EM.Ent. has also awarded licensing rights for a total of 432 half-hours of children's and youth programming for marketing in the home entertainment segment to the Hungarian distribution firm InterDomino. The three-year contract contains both new productions such as the 2D animated action/comedy and mystery/comedy series STAINES DOWN DRAINS and DEADLY! as well as famous classics including PIPPI LONGSTOCKING, HEIDI and LASSIE.
In addition the children's channel Minimax purchased free TV rights to series ARTHUR, LITTLE BEAR, FIX & FOXI and URMEL for broadcast in Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia and Montenegro.
