DUCK Improves With Rand

Los Angeles-based creative studio DUCK has recently signed award-winning director Natasha Rand.

In a decade and a half working in design and direction on everything from storyboards to animation and direction in pre-production, production, and post-production, Rand has been showered in awards from industry gatekeepers like the BDA International Awards, the London Effects & Animation Festival, the Australian Effects & Animation Festival, PROMAX International, the International Advertising Festival of Montreux, the International Monitor Award, the New York Film Festival, and the Flickerfest Film Festival.

Her directorial work includes a far-flung assortment of commercials, films, and videos of varying styles and lengths filmed all over the world. She has directed TV spots for HSBC, Wrigley's, Proctor & Gamble and Tesco; broadcast pieces for Country Music Television in Canada, Digiturk Television in Turkey, and Foxtel Cable Television in Australia; music videos for REM, Celine Dion and Moby; and contributed to parts of feature films IN THE SHADOW OF THE MOON, TIME MACHINE, and JOEY. She also wrote, produced and directed an 11-minute short, WAR.

DUCK EP Mark Medernach noted, "Natasha is a perfect complement to our already talented, ever-expanded roster. Her experience in all forms of media creation and ability to work cross-platform make her a great addition."

Prior to joining DUCK, Rand held a variety of directorial and design positions at top studios, including Crush, Passion Pictures, Denis Friedman Productions, Ostra Delta, CreoCollective, 1K Studios, Digital Domain, A52, Imaginary Forces, Garner Maclennan Design in Sydney, Zap Productions, BAM/SSB, and Watchout Productions.

Commenting on the union, Rand added, "I'm delighted to be joining DUCK's roster of talented directors, and look forward to working with them on many projects across the whole design and animation gamut, as they have an impressive reputation for being able to take on any kind of project and complete it with expertise and creative brilliance."
