Digital Asia School Of Animation Launched in Mumbai

Crest founder and Digital Asia chief Shyam Ramanna recently launched Digital Asia School Of Animation in Mumbi, India in association with Meteor Films Satyam Bansal, reports NewKerala.com.

DASA is located in Lokhandwala, Mumbai with courses in virtual reality, animation, game design, film editing and mobile gaming. Its headquarter is situated in Bangkok.

As part of the degree, student will travel to Bangkok to visit Digital Asia Concepts, where they will study state of the art motion capture technology and network with other students from Assumption University. The students will also get a chance to demonstrate their final project to the experts.

In addition, DASA Students will have a mandatory two months internship at a professional studio.

At the schools star-studded launch, PAGE 3 director Madhur Bhandarkar noted that CG animation in India is on the rise, evident in the recent success of the animated feature HANUMAN.

It will be a new style of cinema, as we saw HANUMAN win the hearts of people across the country. A lot of animated films are being made, and there are many upcoming directors who want to make such films. So, I think this type of academic training will help youngsters, Bhandarkar said.

Filmmaker Subhash Ghai added, There is a bright future in animation as it is related to entertainment business. On television, I think, within five years, 40 animation channels have come up. So youngsters should join some institute to get proper knowledge of animation.
