The veteran producer, Cory Berg, joins Pulse Films USA as the Los Angeles based executive producer.

Los Angeles, CA -- Pulse Films USA continues to build out its executive staff with the addition of Cory Berg as its Los Angeles-based executive producer, announced Cedric Gairard, U.S. managing director Pulse Films, from New York. Berg will work from Pulse Films' partner Caviar's LA office.

Berg will initially focus on developing commercial production opportunities for Pulse’s growing roster of directors, including: Mike Piscitelli, Dave Ma, The Young Replicants, David Lewandowski and Kahlil Joseph, and will seek stateside opportunities for Pulse’s UK-based directors, which includes: Thirtytwo, Ben Newman, DARYL, Anthony Dickenson and Fred & Nick.

“Cory (Berg) makes a potent addition to our executive staff, bringing a wealth of production experience from his more than a decade as a commercial producer for top firms including Smuggler and Hungry Man,” said Gairard. “We look forward to significant growth in 2013 as we continue to expand our talent roster and win national assignments.”

Berg (age 40), who lives in the Hollywood Hills, was born in Chicago, where he graduated from Loyola University with a BS in business administration. His film production career began as an on-set PA for the film “A Thousand Acres” (1997), which was filmed in a cornfield not far from his home, where he was “single-handedly responsible for guiding Colin Firth to crew parking.”

That experience inspired him to continue in film production and to make the move to Los Angeles in 2001 Jasper Thomlinson, executive producer with Caviar Content, introduced Berg to Cedric Gairard and Pulse founder Thomas Benski. “I’ve been working in production for a long time, most recently with Smuggler, and I feel that Pulse has developed a creative atmosphere in which directors are freed to do their best work,” said Berg.

Berg spent most of the past decade producing hundreds of commercials as a freelance line producer for Smuggler, Hungry Man, Partizan and StationFilm. His work spans commercials, short films, music videos and feature film development. Some of Cory’s iconic commercials include campaigns with director Randy Krallman, out of Smuggler US, including Skittles “Berries & Cream,” and the original E-Trade Baby spots.
