Cartoon Network Orders New Skatoony Series

Cartoon Network announced that it has commissioned a third series of SKATOONY, the animated game show that pits real-life kid contestants against cartoon characters. The re-commission reflects the unprecedented success of the show, which first aired on CN in November 2006. Series two was produced earlier this year and is due to air beginning September 28, 2007.

The news follows CN's recent international distribution deal with Target Entertainment to represent sales of SKATOONY's format and program rights.

The 13x30 series will be animated entirely in-house by CN in London, maintaining Turner Broadcasting's commitment to the creation of U.K.-produced kids' content. In addition, CN continues its collaboration with leading indie Talent Television, creators of the hit kids' reality series BEST OF FRIENDS, who will again manage and shoot all live-action elements of the show. Talent is also acting as consultant on all international versions of the format.

At CN, SKATOONY is created, series produced and directed by James Fox, edited by Kevin Narrainen, and written by Richard Brookes. It is executive produced by Finn Arnesen. At Talent Television, the show is executive produced by Annie Miles, produced by Amanda Browning and directed by John A. Marley.
