Breakthrough Entertainment introduced "Rocket Monkeys," the studio’s newest original animated series at MIPCOM 2012.
Toronto, Canada -- Breakthrough Entertainment introduced Rocket Monkeys, the studio’s newest original animated series at MIPCOM 2012, it was announced by Nat Abraham, President of Distribution for Breakthrough Entertainment.
Produced by Breakthrough Entertainment in association with TELETOON Canada Inc. and renowned animation studio Atomic Cartoons, Rocket Monkeys (26X30) follows the mis-adventures of monkeynaut brothers Gus and Wally. When facing rogue black holes, vengeful aliens, criminal masterminds and rifts in the evil dimension, the universe turns to its bravest and brightest to save the day. When those guys are busy, the universe is stuck with the Rocket Monkeys. Inexplicably charged with carrying out a wide range of important missions, brothers Gus and Wally tend to cause more intergalactic calamity than they actually prevent. Luckily, they have plenty of help from YAY-OK, their dashing and devoted (if slightly outdated) robot.
“We’ve had a lot more fun developing Rocket Monkeys than anyone deserves,” said Nat Abraham, President of Distribution, Breakthrough Entertainment. “From the seemingly simple concept of ‘monkeys in space,’ our talented team of animators and writers built an entire universe that is alive, frenetic and addictively bananas. We’re gearing for Rocket Monkeys to be the next animated pop culture phenomenon with the rare ability to capture the hearts of both adults and children around the world.”
“Rocket Monkeys brings TELETOON’s viewers a dose of wacky mayhem that only a couple of monkeynauts could provide and we’re thrilled they’re joining our winter programming lineup,” said Alan Gregg, Director, Original Content, TELETOON Canada Inc.
