Corner Stone Animation announced that PBS KIDS has committed to airing 26 half-hour episodes of BETSYS KINDERGARTEN ADVENTURES, the animated educational preschool television series. The series features a dream team of voice-over talent, composed of Daveigh Chase (LILO & STITCH), Nancy Cartwright (THE SIMPSONS), Fred Willard (CHICKEN LITTLE), Vicki Lewis (FINDING NEMO), Bess Armstrong (MY SO-CALLED LIFE), Sally Struthers (ALL IN THE FAMILY), Cree Summer (X-MEN LEGENDS), Richard Horvitz (POWER RANGER) and Tom Bosley (HAPPY DAYS). The series is in production and targeted to launch on PBS KIDS in the fall of 2007.
The series, told from the perspective of five-year-old Betsy, is designed to ease a child's transition from the home setting to a school environment by generating interest and excitement about the kindergarten experience in young viewers. Created by preschool teacher and author Betsy Quinn, and directed by Academy Award-winning animator Fred Crippen, the show is targeted to children 2-6. Each episode involves Betsy and her friends in adventure after adventure where they learn teamwork and valuable life lessons. Every episode will contain both an academic as well as a behavioral lesson.
BETSYS KINDERGARTEN ADVENTURES presents valuable lessons to help children prepare for success in school and in life, said Linda Simensky, senior director, childrens programming, PBS.
