Beth Goss New Cartoon Network Ad Sales, Marketing & Enterprises EVP

Beth Goss joins Turner Broadcasting System as evp of Cartoon Network's ad sales, marketing and enterprises group, effective Jan. 29, 2007. Goss will be based in New York City.

"I am very excited to have Beth join our company and assume this integral position within the animation division," said David Levy, president of Turner Ent. ad sales & arketing and president of Turner Sports, to whom she reports. "Beth's professional credentials are extensive, diverse and impressive and she will bring great creative energy and smart business sense to her new role. Her skills will blend perfectly with those of the seasoned Cartoon Network ad sales and enterprises executive team in place. I am confident that, collectively, this group will continue to make it easier and more productive for advertisers, agencies and licensing partners to do business with Cartoon Network."

In this new operating structure, John O'Hara, svp and general sales manager; Phyllis Ehrlich, svp of ad sales promotions and marketing; and John Friend, svp of Cartoon Network Enterprises, will now report directly to Goss.

"My goal is to continue to help Cartoon develop and extend long-term partnerships with clients through innovative and creative ideas that take advantage of the full arsenal of assets," said Goss.

Goss spent seven years working for Universal Pictures in a variety of executive marketing and licensing positions. Since 2004, Goss was evp of the company's consumer products group where she was responsible for managing global licensing and retail strategies for the company and its operating divisions. Goss also is credited with creating the Universal Mobile entertainment division.

Goss worked on a number of licensing programs for Universal's feature film releases, including KING KONG, THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS franchise, SCARFACE, as well as such television properties as BATTLESTAR GALACTICA and CURIOUS GEORGE. She directed the Universal Studios Consumer Products Group launch of a worldwide licensing program for the CURIOUS GEORGE brand.

Previously, she was evp of Universal's The Brand Group from 2002-2004. Goss joined Universal in 1999 as svp of promotions, where she developed integrated marketing campaigns in support of Universal's home video and consumer products line.

In addition to Universal Pictures, Goss has worked at Polygram Films (1997-99), Polygram Filmed Ent. (1995-97) and DDB Needham (1993-95). Goss began her career at McCann Erickson.

Cartoon Network (www.CartoonNetwork.com), seen in nearly 91 million U.S. homes and 160 countries around the world, is Turner Broadcasting System Inc.'s ad-supported cable service offering original, acquired and classic animated entertainment for kids and families. Overnight, from 11:00 pm-6:00 am Sunday-Thursday, Cartoon Network shares its channel space with Adult Swim, a late-night destination showcasing original and acquired animation for young adults 18-34.
