Bardel Crafting Anton’s World to Life for TV Ontario

Bardel Ent. heads to the upcoming Kidscreen Summit (Feb. 8-10, 2006, in New York City) with an animation series in development with TV Ontario featuring the colorful characters of ANTONS WORLD; a new sitcom for kids based on Bardels award-winning Christmas special, THE CHRISTMAS ORANGE.

ANTONS WORLD is a 26x22 series geared to kids 6-9. It centers on Anton, a bright young boy with big ideas and bold plans who is always surprised when the rest of the world doesnt see things quite his way. Anton and his faithful friends adventure from one hilarious situation to the next, learning valuable lessons through trial and error.

Both the ANTONS WORLD series and THE CHRISTMAS ORANGE special were inspired by the Governor Generals Award-nominated book, THE CHRISTMAS ORANGE by Don Gilmour, with illustrations by Marie-Louise Gay.

People loved the characters we created in THE CHRISTMAS ORANGE and were very excited to develop more stories about Anton and all of the eclectic and diverse personalities in his neighborhood, says Cathy Schoch, Bardels vp of development. Its great to be working with TV Ontario to create a series that we know kids will love.
