'Annoying Orange' Secures UK Rep

Independent agency Rocket Licensing is to represent the iconic internet phenomenon "Annoying Orange" in the UK and Ireland.

London, UK -- Independent agency Rocket Licensing is to represent the iconic internet phenomenon Annoying Orange in the UK and Ireland. Annoying Orange, with more than one billion views on YouTube, is the world’s most watched web series.

Created by Dane Boedigheimer, The Annoying Orange has taken the Internet by storm since it debuted on YouTube in October 2009, racking up more than one billion total views, boasting over 2.3 million You Tube channel subscribers, and attracting celebrity appearances including John Leguizamo, James Caan and Weezer. The popularity has also translated over to 10 million likes on Facebook and to the official web site, www.annoyingorange.com, which generates nearly four million page views each month.  On June 11, the Annoying Orange embarked on a fruitful new adventure with the debut of a television series on Cartoon Network in the United States and current negotiations are taking place to secure a local broadcast partner in the UK.

The licensing potential of Annoying Orange has already been demonstrated in the US through the successful launch of apps, t-shirts and novelty toys and games. The Bridge range of talking toys launched at TRU and speciality stores in 2011 with huge consumer and retail demand resulting in exceptional sell-through. Rocket Licensing is developing the UK licensing campaign across a wide range of merchandise including: toys and gifts, apparel, amusement plush, backpacks, headwear, housewares (notably kitchenware), apps, digital and physical games and, of course, novelty gifting and accessories.
