American Dad Could Get FCC Fine

Fox is facing an FCC fine of $25,000 for not responding to over 100,000 indecency complaints issued against AMERICAN DAD for its Jan. 3rd episode, reports VARIETY.

Fox is facing an FCC fine of $25,000 for not responding to over 100,000 indecency complaints issued against AMERICAN DAD for its Jan. 3rd episode, reports VARIETY. The episode featured sexually charged dialogue that suggested one character ejaculated a horse.

Fox claims they have responded to the investigation and is willing to provide additional details if needed. The network says the FCC sent them only a sample complaint from Fox station KDFW in Dallas. The station owner, NW Communications, provided information to the FCC, but the commission claims it was "incomplete and unsatisfactory."

The Parents Television Council went on the warpath following the airing of the episode and encouraged members to send complaints to the FCC, as well as their congressional representatives.

As far as the indecency claims, Fox believes the "fleeting expletives" do not constitute indecency. The Supreme Court has ruled in favor of the FCC, but threw back constitutional freedom of speech concerns to the lower court.
