The Blue Plum Animation Festival is a part of Johnson City's annual Blue Plum Music & Arts Festival and will be held on June 3 & 4, 2005 in downtown Johnson City, Tennessee. Blue Plum Animation Festival will feature animated shorts submitted by students, independent artists, and professional animators from around the region and the country. Childrens' animations will be shown in the Hands On Museum on West Main Street, and all other animations will be shown at Nelson's Fine Art Galleries, also located on West Main Street. Both locations will be open during the entire festival. The fee to submit an animation is $25 for students and $35 for independent and professional artists.

In addition to being featured in the show, the animations will be judged against one another in a competition. These animations will be judged by a team of professionals within the industry. Winners will recieve cash awards, certificates, and gain special recognition at the Blue Plum Animation Festival.

The animation cannot exceed five minutes in length (this does not include credits). Any type of animation will be accepted, and any theme is welcome so long as it's not offensive or explicit in nature. The animation does not have to be computer-generated, but it must be submitted to us in a digital format such as a MPEG, AVI, QuickTime movie, or a similar type. The animations must be submitted as a file on a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM. No films, DVD's, or tapes will be accepted.
