Betsy Streeter Presentation

The Cartoon Art Museum hosts cartoonist Betsy Streeter, creator of BRAINWAVES and THE MOMMY TRACK'D FUNNY PAPERS on Saturday, Sept. 8, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, as part of its ongoing Cartoonist-in-Residence program. Museum visitors will have the chance to watch Streeter at work and chat with her about cartooning. This event is free and open to the public.

BRAINWAVES is a single-panel cartoon feature that was born in 1993. Betsy's blend of the mundane and the absurd has circled the globe online and on paper in all kinds of publications, including THE FUNNY TIMES, THE UTNE READER, and even a CHICKEN SOUP book, as well as in dailies, weeklies and monthlies across the US and abroad. Her most recent publications are in the UTAH STATESMAN and the September issue of PARENTING MAGAZINE. Perhaps as an indication of her brand of humor, Streeter's work also makes its way into quite a few psychology textbooks and can be seen framed on the wall of at least one doctor's office waiting room.
