what makes a small country much bigger than it seems

oh yes, I come from a tiny country, we don't have much but, what we have is really really great!
Portugal not only has great food, beautiful beaches, wonderful landscapes, some of the nicest and friendliest people, but also one of the best animation festivals in Europe if not the world. Sure we're little but as the Penguin said in "Cats Can't Dance" and he bends a straw:
"I might be little but, I'm strong!"

Portugal sounds like a beautiful place!

I'm not sure if your question is rhetorical or not, but...I think one of the things which makes a small country seem bigger are specific cultural movements or schools of thought. Like when diverse groups meet one another and are able to appreciate and assimilate each others ideas and hopes and, then, come up with a new order.

it isn't a rhetorical question... I just meant to say that althought we're small and seemingly unimportant to the world revolutions and struggles, we do have a lovely festival with loads of animated goodies and that it is important in the world of animation, because this is one of the festival where one of the candidates to the Cartoon D'Or (very important European Award) gets chosen! that's it, nothing more and nothing less!
