The 1998 Annecy International Animated Film Festival took place Tuesday, May 26 through Sunday, May 31 in Annecy, France. The festival award winners are listed below.

Raoul Servais of Belgium took home both the coveted "Annecy 98" Grand Prize for Best Short Film and the FIPRESCI International Film Critic's Prize, for his new film Nocturnal Butterflies.
