Indian Film To Feature Toon/Live-Action Musical Number
Mumbai, India-based 2nz Animation has completed work on the 2D animation portion of a musical number in the upcoming film SHAADI KA LADDOO. Directed by Raj Kaushal and starring Mandira Bedi, Sanjay Suri and Aashish Chaudhary, the film's "Chal Hutt" number will feature actress Negar Khan and animated characters singing together.
"Although the technique is not new in the west, its being used for the first time in an Indian feature film," said Kireet Khurana, director at 2nz Animation. "The painstaking process of creating the blend took almost three months. Director Raj Kaushal and music directors Vishal Shekhar worked closely with us to understand the complexities of the animation medium and get appropriate lyrics and music to work in tandem to enhance the unique visualization, which was specifically designed for an animated song. The team at 2nz was highly motivated for creating something that will be seen for the first time on the Indian silver screen."
Scheduled for release in India April 15, 2004, the film will also feature animated transitions between scenes. 2nz Animation has also just completed another live-action/animation song for the feature film, DETECTIVE NANI, directed by Romilla Mukherjee, due for release this summer.
Formed in 1996, 2nz Animation has established itself as one of the foremost high-quality animation and special effects companies in India, having to its credit five Presidents National awards and two International awards for its creations.
