The 20th edition of the International Animation Festival of Brazil, ANIMA MUNDI 2012 takes place from July 13th to 22nd in Rio de Janeiro and from July 25th to 29th in São Paulo. We would like to invite you to enter your most recent works for the festival.

The 20th edition of the International Animation Festival of Brazil, ANIMA MUNDI 2012 takes place from July 13th to 22nd in Rio de Janeiro and from July 25th to 29th in São Paulo. We would like to invite you to enter your most recent works for the festival.

 A festival that aims to inform, train, educate and entertain by using the infinite possibilities of the language of animation. Participate in Anima Mundi by entering your film, joining our virtual community and glancing through our windows the universe of International Animation.

The deadline for entries and for sending the preview material is March 22nd. We are excited to announce a travelling art exhibit featuring the work of Syd Mead. The premier showing is planned for January 26, 2012 at the Forest Lawn Museum in Glendale, California.

“Syd Mead | Progressions” is an exhibition celebrating more than 50 years of Syd Mead’s talent, vision, and imagination. It highlights his career preparation at Art Center School and his ongoing creative work, which continues to this day.  This exhibition spans personal and commercial works and will include his paintings, sketches, and drawings.

The organizers would like to announce the third edition of "AniFestRozafa 2012" Event. The International Festive Event of animated film for children and by children will be held in the city of Shkodra, Albania during the period September 23- 30, 2012.  The organizers of the International Festive Event of animated film are experienced creators in this genre of film and are happy to invite colleagues to participate by sending their films to our festival.

Review: Beauty and the Beast in 3D

It’s been close to 2 decades since I last saw the original Beauty and the Beast, sitting mesmerized right alongside my then 3 year old daughter Becky. Sitting mesmerized right alongside my now 23 year old daughter as we watched this beautiful new version of the film, I can safely say the ends justify the means and the tremendous amount of work to bring this film to 3D has produced a visually stunning experience.
