Is Dumbo going Blu?

According to UltimateDisney DUMBO is the next title due on Blu-ray (Feb 2010) by Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment.

Amid speculation and contradicting previous announcements, the Diamond Series won't be releasing FANTASIA or FANTASIA 2000 as expected.

DUMBO was not among the ten best-selling titles originally chosen for the Platinum collection. The second Diamond title of 2010 will reportedly be BEAUTY AND THE BEAST reports the Spanish site Planeta HD.

Columbia Assigns Writers for Hancock Sequel

HANCOCK is coming back. Columbia has just hired Adam Fierro (THE SHIELD/DEXTER) and Glen Mazzara (CRASH/LIFE) to pen the sequel. In 2008, the original film grossed $624M worldwide.

The HollywoodReporter notes both Will Smith and helmer Peter Berg will both return. Plot details are yet still unknown.

Cartoon Network nabs Jury Emmys

Variety announced Cartoon Network has already picked-up 5 juried awards in the Primetime Emmy race.

The TV Academy announced winners in two categories -- costumes for a variety/music program or special and individual achievement in animation -- both of which will be handed out during the Creative Arts Awards Ceremony Sept. 12.

In both juried categories, there are no nominations; anyone Emmy-worthy is recognized.

Avatar: Breaks Records and Sparks Comments

(Fox Press Release) 20th Century Fox announced today that the teaser trailer for the upcoming James Cameron-directed AVATAR has become the most-viewed trailer ever on the Apple website. It has registered over four million streams in its first day on the site, shattering the previous record of 1.7 million.

On Friday, the trailer also arrived in theaters around the world, presented in all formats, including IMAX 3-D, IMAX 2-D, digital 3-D, digital 2-D, and 35mm 2-D.

AVATAR opens in theaters everywhere on December 18th, 2009.
