The real and imaginary inhabits/stars of FOSTER'S HOME FOR IMAGINARY FRIENDS have lots to be thankful for Thanksgiving Day as they set off to star in their first Cartoon Network Studios original movie, GOOD WILT HUNTING, and a 12-hour marathon of the most thankful episodes on Thanksgiving, Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006. That and the characters are featured on a float that morning in Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

On Friday Nov. 24, 2006, PBS KIDS is celebrating friendship with two-hours of themed preschool programming and online games for kids, as well as resources for parents to extend their child's learning beyond the screen. Miss Lori and Hooper, hosts of the PBS KIDS preschool block, will give kids ideas for how to stay in touch with long-distance friends and episodes from CURIOUS GEORGE, CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG, DRAGON TALES and IT'S A BIG BIG WORLD. In addition, music videos featuring PBS KIDS characters will premiere throughout the block and online at pbskids.org.

GigaPix Studios New Post-Production Head Starts on Ben & Izzy

Chatsworth, Caoifornia-based GigaPix Studios is beginning post-production on BEN & IZZY, a half-hour CGI animated series that follows the adventures of two pre-teens, one from Jordan and one from the U. S. GigaPix is providing editorial, audio mixing, sound design and animation rendering services for the 10-episode series.

NBC TODAY SHOW weather & feature reporter Al Roker guest stars as the voice of Normus the giant in a new episode of Playhouse Disney's JOJO'S CIRCUS, premiering Nov. 20, 2006, with a rebroadcast on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23 in a six-hour block of TV's first movement-focused series. JoJo will also fly as a giant balloon in the 80th anniversary Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, the first-ever balloon to feature "movement" -- juggling.

Nicktoons Networks Blasts Off Into Sci-Fi With Skyland Series

Nicktoons Network will premier its first-ever sci-fi series, SKYLAND, on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006, at 9:00 pm. The visually impressive series employs the latest in animation technology, using motion capture, CGI, 2D and keyframe animation to create cutting-edge television.

The debut of SKYLAND will kick off with the hour-long special (that sneak-peeked globally in January) followed by an all-new, half-hour episode at 10:00 pm during the 3 Headed Monster programming block. Season one will air Saturdays at 9:00 pm on Nicktoons Network.

Animated Stories From The Bible Series to Debut on TBN

Officials from NEST Family Learning, a leading producer and distributor of family educational products, announced its partnership with Trinity Broadcasting Network. As part of the deal, 13 episodes from NEST's animated Bible series will begin airing on Saturday, Nov. 18, on Trinity Broadcasting Network. Geared toward children 3-12, the series uses animation to teach biblical principles and essential Christian values.

Zac Efron (HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL) guest stars on Disney Channel's new hit animated series, THE REPLACEMENTS, on Nov. 18, 2006, at 8:00 pm. Since its premiere, THE REPLACEMENTS has been the No. 1 animated series on Disney Channel for kids 6-11.

In order to get Johnny Hitswell's attention, Riley replaces the old pool lifeguard with Davey Hunkerhoff (voiced by Efron), a hunky 14-year-old lifeguard she flirts with to make Johnny jealous. Her plan backfires when Davey actually likes her back, and, discovering her plan, his feelings are so hurt he closes the pool.

Last year they tried 3-D, this year the producers of NBC's hit supernatural drama, MEDIUM, returns a special two-hour episode, "Four Dreams," with a 2D-animated scene by Van Partible (JOHNNY BRAVO). Six Comic Turns to Them on FOX

FOX is set in motion a new sci-fi series named THEM, based on the graphic novel SIX, written by Michael Oeming and Daniel Berman, reports VARIETY. The pilot will be directed by Jonathan Mostow (TERMINATOR 3) and written by David Eick (BATTLESTAR GALACTICA) and John McNamara (PROFIT). All three will exec produce with Circle of Confusion's David Engel and David Alpert. CBS Paramount Network Television is the production house on the show.

Lena Headey (THE BROTHERS GRIMM) has been cast as the title character in FOXs pilot, THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES, based on the TERMINATOR franchise, reports VARIETY. The Warner TV production transpires in the time between the second and third feature where Sarah and her son, John, battle various attackers from the future. Josh Friedman is penning the pilot from which David Nutter will direct.

Star Wars Saga in HD Coming to Cinemax On Demand

Jedis, Wookies, Sith and droids are coming to Comcast Digital Cable with On Demand in HD. Beginning this month, all six STAR WARS films will be available in HD clarity any time customers want to watch them with Cinemax HD On Demand, nine days before the movies air on the Cinemax HD cable channel.

Cinemax and Cinemax HD kick off a weekend marathon of all six movies on Nov. 10, 2006, at midnight with Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, concluding on Nov. 13 with STAR WARS: EPISODE VI RETURN OF THE JEDI. The films will air at additional times throughout November.

The O.C Move May Bode Well for Animation

Disappointing news for Fox Broadcasting's THE O.C. may mean more primetime exposure for animated shows.

Fox is taking THE O.C. back to its old turf on Wednesdays, following a low season four premiere last week and may open up 9-10:00 pm slot Thursday for a block of animation repeats, according to REUTERS.

THE O.C. will fill the slot left by the recently axed HAPPY HOUR and THE RICH LIST.

The legendary Eartha Kitt, who portrays the evil Yzma in DISNEY'S THE EMPEROR'S NEW SCHOOL, does a special intro and sings a new song for the "Yzmopolis" episode of the animated series set to air in primetime Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, at 8:30 pm on Disney Channel.

In the episode, Kuzco (JP Manoux) wishes he was never Emperor and so Yzma now rules the Kingdom, named Yzmopolis and sings a song composed for it.

African Animated Series to Teach Teens About Environment

A new South African animation, URBO: THE ADVENTURES OF PAX AFRICA, which airs on SABC3, is setting out to teach teens about the environment, reports Filmmaker.co.za.

The 52-episode epic is set in a future Cape Town, called iKapa, follows Pax Africa and his friends as they try and find the lost city of Urbo in an effort to save the world from rampant industrialization and dictatorship. In this word, citizens need a special card to breathe air in a pavement booth.
