Leonard Nimoy to Guest on Fringe

Emmy Award nominee and sci-fi icon Leonard Nimoy will guest-star on an upcoming episode of FRINGE. Nimoy will appear as pivotal person of interest William Bell in the first season finale Tuesday, May 12 (9:01-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Nimoy, best known as "Mr. Spock" aboard the USS ENTERPRISE, will reprise his legendary commanding role in the highly anticipated STAR TREK feature film directed by FRINGE co-creator J.J. Abrams. Aside from myriad on-screen credits, Nimoy has directed numerous films, authored several books and released five music albums.

Studio100 Media Seals Deal with Canal+

Studio100 Media, a subsidiary of Belgium's family entertainment group Studio100, has signed a deal with Canal+'s children and family channels for several series from its programming library.

Puppetry series BIG AND SMALL (52 x 11) will air on Piwi, the animation series POOCHINI (78 x 7) on TeleTOON and ZEKE'S PAD (26 x 24) on Canal+ Family.

Allison Scagliotti has been cast in WAREHOUSE 13, the all-new Sci Fi original one-hour dramedy adventure series. She joins the previously announced cast members Eddie McClintock, Joanne Kelly, Saul Rubinek and CCH Pounder. WAREHOUSE 13 will premiere Tuesday, July 7 with a two-hour pilot from 9-11 p.m. ET/PT.

Cartoon Network Asia Adds to Lineup

Cartoon Network Asia has announced a lineup of new cartoons that will be joining its current roster of animated shows.

Along with current shows BEN 10, BEN 10: ALIEN FORCE and STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS, these new cartoons will include original series L.O.S.E., JIMMY TWO SHOES, MATT'S MONSTERS and CREEP SCHOOL and familiar favorites such as THE GARFIELD SHOW and season two of STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS.

Production Begins on Disney XD's Skyrunners, Weta Handles Creatures

Production has begun on SKYRUNNERS, the first original movie for the newly-branded television platform Disney XD. The science fiction adventure features Kelly Blatz, who can also be seen playing the title role of the new network's flagship series AARON STONE.

Weta Workshop, the multiple Academy Award-winning world leader in special makeup, creature and visual effects (THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy, KING KONG and THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA films), will design and provide the practical alien creature effects in the movie.

Nickelodeon Greenlights Third Season of Yo Gabba Gabba!

Nickelodeon has announced the pickup of a third season of the live-action preschool music series YO GABBA GABBA!. The network will commence production on 13 new half-hour episodes produced by The Magic Store and W!LDBRAIN in August in Los Angeles, Calif. YO GABBA GABBA!, created by Christian Jacobs and Scott Schultz, is executive produced by Jon Berrett and Charles Rivkin.

YO GABBA GABBA! currently airs daily at 1:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. (ET) on NOGGIN.

Jason Statham Gets Home at Turner Networks

Turner Networks has purchased the TV rights to three Jason Statham actioners: THE BANK JOB, TRANSPORTER 3 and the upcoming CRANK: HIGH VOLTAGE, per VARIETY.

The licensing deal will make Turner's TNT and TBS the first non-pay TV outlets to show the films starting in 2011; 2010 for THE BANK JOB.

Goode Family Rumored for May 27 Debut

ABC's new animated comedy THE GOODE FAMILY, from KING OF THE HILL co-creator Mike Judge, will reportedly debut May 27, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.

ABC has yet to officially announce their summer schedule, but is expected to confirm the rumors soon. THE GOODE FAMILY is about a family obsessed with doing the "right" thing.

The show will debut with two new episodes from 9-10 p.m. (ET/PT) after the season premiere of reality show WIPEOUT.

Sci Fi's Sanctuary Begins Production On Season 2

SCI FI's original series SANCTUARY, the first TV show based on an online series to be picked up for a second season, began production last week in Vancouver. Slated to return this fall, the one-hour drama's 13-episode second season will include the addition of Agam Darshi (2012) as Kate Freelander.

Witty and sarcastic with a gift for persuasion, Kate Freelander is a swindler, con artist and thief who finds herself in an uneasy alliance with Dr. Magnus after her business relationship with the Cabal goes sour.

First Live 3-D TV Broadcast in U.K. from BSkyB

British satellite broadcaster BSkyB may have a first in the U.K. after a Thursday broadcast of a live concert in 3-D to a domestic 3-D TV set, reports VARIETY.

The concert, by rock band Keane, was transmitted via BSkyB's network and aired on a Sky Plus HD set-top box, where a specially-invited audience watched the show on a 46-inch HD screen at London's Abbey Road studios next door to the gig.

Iron Man to Debut on Nicktoons April 24

IRON MAN: ARMORED ADVENTURES will premiere April 24 on Nicktoons Network as part of the network's partnership with Marvel Animation. The new animated half-hour series based on Marvel's armored super hero, and which includes an original theme song from rock band Rooney, follows a teenage Tony Stark as he attempts to balance the pressures of being a teen with his responsibilities as Iron Man.

The 26-episode adventure begins Friday, April 24 from 7 to 8 p.m. and continues regularly Friday at 7 p.m. on Nicktoons.

Nickelodeon has paired Johnny Depp with SpongeBob in the first of several special on-air events this year in celebration of SpongeBob's 10th anniversary. Through eco-conscious storytelling, Disney Channel marks Earth Day with episodes conveying the importance of conservation, recycling and using natural resources beginning Friday, April 17.

PlayhouseDisney.com will launch the new "Handy Manny Gets Handy with the Earth" mini site, which includes "Manny's Mini Garden," where kids can create their own online garden on Friday, April 3. twofour54, based in Abu Dhabi, has signed its first partnership deal, an agreement with 3Line Media of the U.K. to co-produce a fun, educational Arabic/English children's series, DRIVER DAN'S STORY TRAIN. The series will debut in the spring of 2010 in the U.K. on the BBC's flagship U.K. children's channel CBeebies.

Animasia Signs Co-Production Deal with Agogo Corp.

Malaysian Animasia Studio has partnered with Chinese studio Agogo Corporation to produce multiple animation projects.

The projects which are worth more than Euro 3 million, consist of servicing contracts, co-development of IPs and joint distribution for worldwide markets, are set to kick off middle of 2009 and will keep both studios busy for the next 24 months. The projects will be broadcasted by international networks and prominent European networks.

Lucy Lawless to Take on Starz's Spartacus

Starz Media's SPARTACUS: BLOOD AND SAND will star Lucy Lawless, with Australian actor Andy Whitfield in the title role, per VARIETY.

The fantasy-action hourly series goes into production in April and will air on Starz in January 2010. It is a reunion for Lawless and her XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS creators Rob Tapert and Sam Raimi. XENA ran in syndication from 1995-2001.
