Cartoon Network nabs Jury Emmys

Variety announced Cartoon Network has already picked-up 5 juried awards in the Primetime Emmy race.

The TV Academy announced winners in two categories -- costumes for a variety/music program or special and individual achievement in animation -- both of which will be handed out during the Creative Arts Awards Ceremony Sept. 12.

In both juried categories, there are no nominations; anyone Emmy-worthy is recognized.

Warehouse 13 Constructs 13 More Episodes

SyFy has greenlit a second season of WAREHOUSE 13, reports VARIETY. The dramedy is SyFy's most successful series in 17 years, averaging 3.7 million viewers per week. Even more important the show has nearly a 50% female audience, which is uncommon for the cable net. Season 2 will have 13 episodes.

NBC Green Lights Midnight

The HollywoodReporter notes NBC has a script commitment for a live-action drama based on the comic book series, MIDNIGHT, MASS. Warner Bros. TV has tapped Gretchen Berg and Aaron Harberts (Ex Prods. NBC’s MERCY) to write the project for the studio-based Jinks/Cohen Company. DC Comics’ (Vertigo Imprint) MIDNIGHT, MASS. involves a sexy, wordly husband & wife detective team who solve supernatural mysteries and more.

Oswalt Joins SyFy’s Battlestar Prequel

Comedian Patton Oswalt is set to join Syfy's upcoming drama series, CAPRICA, as a recurring cast member reports The HollywoodReporter.

On the BATTLESTAR GALACTICA prequel, Oswalt will play Baxter Sarno, a popular “Caprican” talk show host. CAPRICA stars Eric Stoltz (Daniel Graystone) and Paula Malcomson (Amanda Graystone) will guest appear on the show within a show.

CAPRICA is currently shooting in Vancouver, B.C.

GHOSTBUSTER star Ernie Hudson will play a Baltimore detective on NBC's HEROES, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. Hudson's character will be hunting one of the heroes on the show. In the new season, a traveling carnival, led by their charming planet-mover leader (Robert Knepper), will be introduced to the plot.
