From a Galaxy Far, Far Away to Teletoon - The Clone Wars this Fall

Toronto -- The battle for galactic freedom is coming to TELETOON Canada this Fall when STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS launches its eagerly anticipated second season on the Canadian animation network. Beginning in September, season one of Lucasfilm Animation's cutting-edge, computer-generated series will air on the network, along with the 2008 STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS feature film. Season two will follow later in the year. STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS will also launch on the French language TELETOON network this Fall.

LucasArts, Sony Expand Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game

LucasArts and Sony Online Ent. will release GALACTIC HUNTERS this March, the second expansion to their STAR WARS Galaxies trading card game.

GALACTIC HUNTERS for the first time giving both light and dark side players the chance to employ some of the most recognizable and legendary bounty hunters in the galaxy. Star Wars is Top Toy License for 2008

Driven by the popularity of the STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS animated television series, the Force remained strong in 2008 as STAR WARS catapulted to the Number 1 spot of all traditional toy licenses, according to The NPD Group. U.S. toy retail sales for the brand in 2008 exceeded $450M.

STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS was the single most popular licensed toy property in 2008 according to data released by the NPD Group. It was also, as a result, the top boys’ toy license of the year.

Clone Wars Gets Second Season at Cartoon Network

Cartoon Network has picked-up a second season of the hit CG-animated series STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS, from creator George Lucas and Lucasfilm Animation. Slated to premiere in the fall of 2009, the second season will continue to take audiences on new and exciting adventures, combining the legendary storytelling of Lucasfilm with innovative animation. Clone Wars Heads to Cartoon Networks Around the Galaxy

Lucasfilm Animation's STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS will debut internationally on 23 different feeds of Cartoon Network in 19 languages on Feb. 13.

The show, which is wrapping up its run on the U.S. Cartoon Network before heading over to TNT, will air in Australia, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea, Southeast Asia (Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore) and Taiwan starting Feb. 13.

Clone Wars Heading to TNT

Lucasfilm Animation's animated series STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS, which has enjoyed a spectacular run on Cartoon Network, is coming to TNT for an encore run this February.

The network will kick off the series with back-to-back episodes presented in high-definition Saturday, Feb. 14, at 11 p.m. (ET/PT), immediately following TNT's NBA All-Star Saturday Night. TNT will then present back-to-back episodes in the series' regular timeslot, Wednesdays at 10 p.m. (ET/PT), beginning Feb. 18.

Star Wars Coming to London Stage

BBC NEWS is reporting that STAR WARS: A MUSICAL JOURNEY will debut in London in April, then tour Europe.

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will play a live score as excerpt from the six films are shown onscreen. The show was put together by Lucasfilm and composer John Williams. It will not have actors playing characters, but will feature live narrators.

The six films in the STAR WARS saga have been edited down to two hours and Williams has "painstakingly rewritten" the music he wrote, said a statement from Lucasfilm.

Starting Saturday, each week's new episode of STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS will be available at the iTunes Store ( for $1.99 an episode, or $39.99 for a season pass to all 22 episodes. Both "Ambush" and "Rising Malevolence," which air tonight at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Cartoon Network, will be available starting Saturday. This pattern will continue throughout the season, with each new episode available at the iTunes Store the day after its Cartoon Network premiere.
