In celebration of Black History Month, The Animation Guild and Black Artists Group will present a free online event exploring the contributions of Black animation pioneers.

Get your work entered without delay; the film submissions deadline is February 15, with project submissions due by February 7.

Program includes sessions with director Glen Keane on the making of ‘Over the Moon;’ RISE’s Florian Gellinger and their first in-house productions, ‘Dragon Rider’ and ‘Stowaway;’ and MR. X’s creative team discussing the film adaption of ‘Monster Hunter’ video game; project submissions being accepted until February 22 for Animation Product Days.

Join the January 30 free online conversation with Baobab Studios founders and creative leads when they discuss insights and challenges of the studio’s first five years; team will also discuss ‘Baba Yaga,’ a VR exploration of the Eastern European legend.

Go behind the scenes with filmmakers discussing their animation projects; scheduled sessions include the production of Netflix’s first three animated shorts ‘Canvas,’ ‘If Anything Happens I Love You,’ and ‘Cops and Robbers;’ Baobab Studios’ VR Exploration Baba Yaga; and PaperBoat Animation Studio’s ‘Bombay Rose.’

Registration remains open with all content available on-demand through March 2021; highlights included 400 talks and presentations on the latest technologies in computer graphics, visual effects, virtual reality, augmented reality, and interactive techniques.

Virtual event will provide a platform for the global FMX community to reflect collectively on the disruption and reinvention of the industry.
