Allegorigthmic's ProFX and MaPZone Selected For Games Pipeline

Allegorithmic announced that WhiteMoon Dreams, a new independent game studio, has chosen ProFX to complement its use of professional texturing solution MaPZone for development of its next-generation console titles.

MaPZone was selected for its ability to rapidly author high-quality textures with maximum control, providing a cost-effective solution for game development pipelines. ProFX was selected for its ability to produce extremely small texture files. WhiteMoon Dreams will utilize ProFX and MaPZone to create assets for an upcoming XBox Live Arcade title.

Allegorithmic Ships ProFX 2.6

Allegorithmic announced the immediate availability of ProFX 2.6, the newest version of its patented procedural texturing middleware. With an optimized core that runs faster and on a wider range of machines, ProFX 2.6 allows game studios to produce texture assets up to two times faster than with regular techniques. ProFX 2.6 procedural textures also ensure very small files sizes, making them ideal for massively multiplayer online games (MMOGs), virtual communities, casual and downloadable games.

King Camera was responsible for the animation effects and HD output of Michael Dudok de Wits 60-second United Airlines spot, A LIFE, which was produced by Acme Filmworks for the agency Fallon/Worldwide of Minneapolis.

The men from King Camera were experienced, professional, perfectionists and they understood the animators mind. I wanted to rely on their skills totally and I could. Wonderful. And on top of that we got on really well, said Dudok de Wit.

Marlin Studios Adds Panorama Textures To Product Line

Graphics studio and publisher Marlin Studios has released PANORAMICA - LAND & SKY, a 2 CD-Rom set created by artist and photographer David Campbell. The product is the twelfth in a series of texture libraries created for use by 2D and 3D graphics artists. PANORAMICA is a collection of beautifully photographed and post-processed panoramic land and sky backgrounds, in full hemispherical and 180/240/360-degree formats. Matching 3D models are included for the various size textures. Also included is a set of six stop-action animated cloud formations, suitable for video and other applications.
