Superman/Batman: Public Enemy to Follow Green Lantern

Warner Premiere and DC Comics' line of animated direct-to-video features will debut SUPERMAN/BATMAN: PUBLIC ENEMIES after GREEN LANTERN: FIRST FLIGHT.

A WB spokesman confirmed the information Monday morning, after AIN'T IT COOL NEWS' Harry Knowles broke the story late Friday. The anticipated released date is fall 2009, based on the Jeff Loeb/ Ed McGuinness comic series. Bruce Timm will exec produce.

Marvel Super Hero Squad to Hero up with Cartoon Network U.S.

Cartoon Network has picked up 26 episodes of the new MARVEL SUPER HERO SQUAD animated series to debut on the network in late 2009. Black and gold will reign supreme in Tampa Bay, according to the official EA SPORTS simulation of Super Bowl XLIII by MADDEN NFL 09.

According to the videogame, the Pittsburgh Steelers will win an unprecedented sixth Super Bowl title in a tightly contested game against the Arizona Cardinals, by a final score of 28-24. Holding off a fourth quarter comeback by the Cardinals, the Steelers bring the Vince Lombardi trophy back to the Steel City for the second time in the past four years and for a sixth time in franchise history, setting an NFL record.

DreamWorks Gets Monstrous 3-D Super Bowl Ad

DreamWorks Animation will debut a 90-second 3-D ad for their upcoming feature MONSTERS VS. ALIENS during Super Bowl XLIII.

The spot will be broadcasted at the end of the second quarter of the game, which airs on NBC on Sunday, February 1, 2009. Viewers will have the opportunity to re-use their glasses for a 3-D episode of NBC's comedy CHUCK on Monday, February 2 at 9 p.m. (ET/PT).

The winning film in the first round will get $2,500, be featured on www.TAC.tv and have the chance for broadcast on Super Channel. Contest entries are being accepted until October 30, 2008 so check out the contest today.

Marvel Super Hero Squad Coming to THQ

THQ Inc. and Marvel Ent., Inc. announced that they have entered into an exclusive licensing agreement to create videogames based on the burgeoning, kid-friendly MARVEL SUPER HERO SQUAD franchise. As part of the multiyear agreement, THQ has obtained the exclusive, worldwide rights to publish content for all current and next-generation consoles, handheld systems, as well as Windows PC. The initial MARVEL SUPER HERO SQUAD game is scheduled for release in fall 2009.

Super Smash Bros. Smashes Nintendo Sales Records

After just one week on store shelves, SUPER SMASH BROS. BRAWL for Wii has become the fastest-selling video game in history.

Since its launch on March 9, the feature-packed fighting action game has sold more than 1.4 million units in the United States, including more than 874,000 on March 9 alone. It has sold at a rate of more than 120 units per minute between launch and March 16.

In comparison, Nintendo's SUPER MARIO GALAXY -- also considered a very successful title -- sold 500,000 units its first week last November.

Decode Ent. augments its slate of third-party programming with the acquisition of worldwide TV distribution rights (excluding the U.S.) to Out of the Blue Ent.'s preschool literacy series SUPER WHY. The 65x22 show is a co-venture between BLUE'S CLUES producer Out of the Blue, co-founded by Angela C. Santomero and Samantha Freeman, and Decode.
