The vocabulary-rich children's series from WGBH and Studio B Productions Inc., a DHX Media Company (Vancouver), made its highly successful doggie debut last year and has quickly become a household favorite.

FOX has set the fall premiere dates for its new and returning series. The 2009-2010 season will kick off Wednesday, Sept. 16 with the sixth season premiere of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), followed by the highly anticipated series premiere of GLEE (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), the biting new comedy for the underdog in all of us that features a soundtrack of hit songs from past and present.

Jennifer Westfeldt and John Boyd have joined the cast of 24, which is currently filming season eight, per THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.

Westfeldt will play an ambitious journalist with ties to Arman Hashemi, a Middle East leader who comes to the U.S. on a peacekeeping mission. Anil Kapoor was cast recently to play Hashemi. Chris Diamantopoulos also was just hired as one of nine new major roles for the new season.

Boyd will be a regular on the FOX show, playing CTU systems analyst Jonah Schwartz.

FAMILY GUY spinoff CLEVELAND has been picked up for a second season by FOX -- months before its fall series debut, reports THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.

SCI FI's original series SANCTUARY, the first TV show based on an online series to be picked up for a second season, began production last week in Vancouver. Slated to return this fall, the one-hour drama's 13-episode second season will include the addition of Agam Darshi (2012) as Kate Freelander.

Witty and sarcastic with a gift for persuasion, Kate Freelander is a swindler, con artist and thief who finds herself in an uneasy alliance with Dr. Magnus after her business relationship with the Cabal goes sour.

PRIMEVAL, ITV's critically acclaimed, hit adventure series, returned on March 28 to take a monster size chunk out of Saturday nights. With an extended run of 10 episodes, the action continues to evolve with more new faces joining the team. Also evolving are the creatures that Professor Nick Cutter and his team face each week, with a more diverse menagerie than ever before leaping out of Framestore's Wells Street offices and onto the screen.

HUNTIK: SECRETS AND SEEKERS will have a second season of 26 episodes, according to multiple news sources.

KIDSCREEN reports that the season will pick up where the second season left off as Lok and his group continue to search for his father, unraveling mysteries and using their news kills to battle enemies along the way. Producers Big Bocca Productions, Rainbow and m4e will deliver the new season by the end of fall 2010.

Toronto-based producer and distributor Tricon Films & Television has signed a series of major international deals for the series SANCTUARY, whilst at the same time preparing for production on season two. The show was recently commissioned for a second season by Sci Fi Channel in the U.S. and by the Space channel in Canada.

With this week's arrival of OPEN SEASON 2 on Blu-ray and DVD from Sony Pictures Home Ent.), director Matthew O' Callaghan, a vet of both animation (CURIOUS GEORGE, MICKEY'S TWICE UPON A CHRISTMAS) and vfx (BEOWULF, THE RUNDOWN), discussed the work.

4Kids Ent. has signed broadcast agreements with RTL2 (Germany) and Digiturk (Turkey) to air the first season of the CHAOTIC animated TV series, as well as agreements with TEN NetworkMBC (Middle East Broadcasting) and Rede TV (Brazil) to air the series' second season, entitled CHAOTIC: M'ARRILLIAN INVASION.

This follows the recent pickup of CHAOTIC's second season by TELETOON in Canada and Disney/Jetix Latin America.
