SCI FI Announces Summer Lineup

On July 15, 2005, SCI FI Friday premieres with brand-new episodes of hit original series STARGATE SG-1 (8:00 pm), STARGATE ATLANTIS (9:00 pm) and BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (10:00 pm). In addition to STARGATE SG-1's newest team member Ben Browder (FARSCAPE), Emmy winner Beau Bridges, Oscar winner Lou Gossett, Jr. and sci-fi favorite Mitch Pileggi (THE X FILES) have joined the STARGATE family. Bridges will join the cast of STARGATE SG-1 and will also appear in a several episodes of STARGATE ATLANTIS.

SpongeBob SquarePants 4th Season Premieres on Nick May 6

SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS returns for a fourth season premiering with a new half-hour episode, Fear of a Krabby Patty/Shell of a Man, on May 6, 2005, at 8:30 pm on Nickelodeon (ET/PT). This episode about working stress is the first of 20 all-new adventures to premiere on Nick in 2005/2006.

A favorite of viewers of all ages, the series launched in July 1999 and has held rank as the number-one kids show on broadcast and cable television for three years. New SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS episodes will continue to air on Fridays at 8:30 p.m.

Jetix Greenlights Get Ed Disney TV Animation Series

Sci Fi Renews Galactica for 2nd Season

Sci Fi Channel has ordered a second season of its hit series BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, with the number of episodes to be produced, timing for the new season and which cast members will return, to be announced.

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA has been a ratings winner for Sci Fi since its Jan. 14, 2005 premiere.

Sci Fi Renews Atlantis & SG-1

Sci Fi Channel announced that it has ordered a second season of STARGATE ATLANTIS and a ninth season of STARGATE SG-1. The network has ordered 20 new episodes of each show from MGM Television Ent., and production on both is set to begin in March 2005 for summer premieres.

STARGATE ATLANTIS debuted in July and drew more than 4.2 million viewers, breaking ratings records. The second season will bring back stars Joe Flanigan, Torri Higginson, David Hewlett, Rainbow Sun Francks, Rachel Luttrell and Paul McGillion.

Simpsons Search for More D’Oh on DVD

Fox Home Entertainment is hoping to cash in on the popularity of THE SIMPSONS on DVD with the release of SIMPSONS CHRISTMAS 2 and THE SIMPSON FIFTH SEASON in time for the holiday buying rush. The second Christmas-themed collection will arrive in stores on Nov. 2 for $14.98 followed by the complete fifth season on Dec. 21 for $49.98. SIMPSONS episodes on DVD have sold more than 6 million units.

More MegaMan To Come To Kids’ WB!

Kids' WB! and ShoPro Ent. are teaming up for the third season of MEGAMAN NT WARRIOR: AXESS, for the 2004-05 season. The network has ordered 30 never-before-seen episodes of the Japanese animated series that will begin airing in spring 2005. The third season order brings the total commitment of the series to 80 episodes.

Lion King Director Up for Open Season, Writers for Surf’s Up

Sony Pictures Animation has added LION KING director Roger Allers as a director on its first 3D feature, OPEN SEASON. Additionally, the studio has hired Steve Bencich and Ron J. Friedman (CHICKEN LITTLE) to draft a script. Allers will be joining Jill Culton in the directors chair as well as Anthony Stacchi who will serve as co-director.

Profile Millennium - The Complete First Season on DVD

The highest selling TV series on DVD will be returning in June. THE SIMPSONS SEASON FOUR DVD COLLECTION will arrive in stores on June 15, 2004 from Fox Home Entertainment. The collection will feature all 22 episodes from the fourth season (1992-1993) and include exclusive bonus material such as commentary on each episode, an introduction by Matt Groening, a voiceover featurette with James L.
