On March 9, VFX supervisors from the 5 Best Visual Effects Oscar nominated films come together in a free VIEW Conference virtual panel; the event is offered in partnership with OGR and the VFX Festival.
VFX supervisor Scott Edelstein, nominated for an Oscar alongside Kelly Port, Chris Waegner, and Daniel Sudick, led his team in delivering more than 520 shots and 600 unique assets, including recreating 2.5 square miles of New York City for the dramatic Doc Ock – Spidey bridge fight, in Marvel’s smash action-adventure hit.
‘Dune’ receives 10 nominations including Best Visual Effects and Best Picture; ‘Encanto,’ ‘Flee,’ ‘Luca,’ ‘The Mitchells vs. the Machines,’ and ‘Raya and the Last Dragon’ are nominated for Best Animated Feature; ‘Affairs of the Art,’ ‘Bestia,’ ‘Boxballet,’ ‘Robin Robin,’ and ‘The Windshield Wiper’ are nominated for Best Animated Short.
