The perfectly pastel series following the everyday lives of the bunny Sakura, the cat Cathy, and the hamster Ran will hit the small screen this April on Fuji Television’s "Nonstop" programming block.
The 3D original animated children’s series, co-developed with Amazon Kids+, stars Sanrio’s pop culture icon Hello Kitty as small-town hero.
Inspired by the beloved Sanrio uncooked egg character, the series will see Gudetama team up with the chick Shakipiyo as they leave the refrigerator and head out into the world in search of their mother.
There’s a teaser trailer now for ‘Gudetama: An Eggcellent Adventure,’ which features the popular unmotivated character created by Sanrio in a mixed medium show with live-action and CGI elements, that’s slated to stream sometime in late 2022.
Marking the only time Sanrio has granted film rights to the iconic character, feature film project to be produced by FlynnPictureCo. and distributed by Warner Bros.
